ASK AARON - August 2002 Answer

From Lucinda, SC

Should I put my original photos in my mini book?

Dear Lucinda:

I would not place original photos in your mini book. Mini books get sent to advertisers and photographers so that they can see more of the models work experience. These books are also brought by the model to all go-sees and jobs. When they leave your house there is always a chance that they could get lost. If you lose your original photos, then you have some pretty major problems. Place your original photos in a portfolio that is kept in a safe place.

I always have color lasers copies made for my mini books. You can go to places like Kinkos to get a high color laser copy. Some reproduction companies will ask that you have a signed release from the photographer giving you permission to make a copy of the photo. You might want to get this release from the photographer before getting the laser copies made.
