ASK AARON - February 2005 Answer

“You interacted with us on a level of layman's comprehension which was both comforting and consoling. I have to admit that your realism to the industry shocked half the room. When you commented that anyone who guarantees that you will be a star is someone you need to watch very carefully was hard, but great, to hear. Thank you for keeping us grounded in this seminar. It was incredibly informing and insightful. I really appreciate your desire to help others get started in this industry and hope you know I'll never look at you the same way on my television screen again.”

Is there a specific way models have to arrange their portfolio?

Dear Daryn:

There really is no one right way to place your photos in your portfolio. The two things that I would offer are having your strongest photos in the front and back. The other mistake many models make is filling up their portfolio with as many photos as possible, even if the photos have the same basic look, or are not strong pictures. It is much better to have a smaller amount of eye catching pictures, then to fill up a portfolio with a lot of mediocre shots.
