ASK AARON - April 2006 Answer

“How to Become a Successful Commercial Model is skillfully and creatively written, and easy to understand. It "puts all the pieces of the puzzle together" so that an individual can have the necessary information and facts needed to pursue a commercial modeling career.

Chock full of details, the book and directory lists agencies that give reasonable rates for the reproduction of composite sheets, head shots, and postcards. It also includes a glossary of terms, as well.

The book also includes samples of the many ads in which you have appeared. Your publication greatly helps eliminate all the confusion and guesswork connected with pursuing commercial modeling.

Again, I wholeheartedly recommend this "bible of commercial modeling." By studying this book, one can take advantage of your extensive and impressive experience.

Thank you for the education.”

From Carey, NC

I want to find out what I can do to "beef up" my resume. There are certain sections of my resume that are blank. Can you offer any advice?

Dear Carey:

Some of the best things you can have on an acting resume are theater credits. Auditioning and working in some local theater productions are not only great learning experiences, but also look great on a resume. Continuing to take great acting classes are also helpful. However, don’t be fooled into thinking that in order to work in this business you need a strong resume. There are plenty of people who understand that you have to get started somewhere, and that we are not born into this world with a great resume. Sometimes agents like to see people with very little experience so they can say that they “discovered” someone before they became famous.
