Last Month's Column:

While I am very interested in modeling, I am a bit more interested in music. I want to do more songwriting and singing. I am hoping that modeling will help me get noticed. How do I find music agents in the DC or Virginia area.

Next Month's Column:

Do you have a template or form to submit to modeling agencies? I would also like to know if it is more advisable to book jobs through an agent or on my own?

I'm going to an open call for Ford Models in Chicago this week, What should I expect? More importantly, what are some questions I should ask? Any suggestions on what to wear? Any advice on do's and dont's?

Dear Alana:

That is wonderful that you are getting this opportunity. There are a few things that I would suggest. Make sure you are on time. Wear clothing that fits your “type.” You can ask the agent about the types of jobs they would consider submitting you for? Ask them for feed back on your photos. Make sure you bring some pictures.

Bring a pen and paper to take notes. Turn your cell phone off. Just be yourself, look people in the eye and shake their hands with confidence.

Most importantly, have a good time.
