"Ask Aaron" - March 2008 Answer

“Although both of us were not up to par health wise, and worried about lasting through such a long seminar, you made it not only pleasant, but entertaining. Your information was well received by my ten year old. I was pleased to know that all of your business experience could be so well presented, yet condensed. Likewise, your book wasn't overly flowery and made me a lot more comfortable about asking questions and knowing what to expect in the front end. Thank you for your time and commitment. We enjoyed meeting you.”

From Kay, FL

I was wondering what kind of royalties do models make when they are the face of a new product. I just got a really good job but I am not sure what types of royalties I should be receiving. Please help.

Dear Kay:

Royalties work differently with print work than with TV or film. Basically, when you sign a voucher at the end of a modeling job, you need to state how long the ad will run. If the ad runs longer than that time period, then you should get paid again. Agents will negotiate additional fees if you are seen in a high exposure formats, and are closely connected with a product.

Take care. Aaron
